504.8 mile tank

OK, haven't driven the car since I came home from work Thursday last week and back to the commute tomorrow and excited to see where I end up when I arrive home.

Start of my commute

I run into a similar issue. Mine had a 31 mile range on the dash - but when I filled it up - only needed 14.8 gallons.

My GX is just a heavy drinker with OCD that does not want to run dry….

LOL, I am a giver. :)

Here is what I am expecting.

  1. Pull into the gas station in Chester, NY at 503 miles for the tank.
  2. Pump 17 gallons at first click.
  3. Force in 2 more and bring it to 19.

That is my prediction.

100's of potential GX buyers eagerly await your report so they can tell their skeptical spouses what an awesome range this vehicle has!!!
I have an OT+ and absolutely love it. However I'm not blind to the fact that she likes to drink heavily. The remaining range numbers are mostly useless - I've had 31 miles of range only to find out it still had 6ish gallons left in it tank. I would doubt anyone telling me this will get almost 500 miles on a tank. After almost 5K miles - the best I've seen is 20ish for very small stretches over the road. Mix in stop and go traffic - it drops to 15 per gallon.

Call me a relic, call me what you will - the only way this pig makes to 22mpg is going down a hill....

I predict you’ll put more like 20+ gallons in when you fill up af 503 miles!

Well, you see it live time, I have driven over 400 miles at an indicated 22.1. I am telling you, I am going to "get" 500 miles out of a single tank of gas. I will say, I am sure tires make a difference, but not to the tune of 150-200 miles in a tank.

Just because I have not climbed Mt. Everest, I will not say it's impossible. You, sir, will achieve what no other has done. And possibly what no other ever will. I look forward to your report of victory.

The real key is... once I am done with this hypermiling game/event.....I do plan on driving like a normal person and will continue to report my MPG's... and miles per tank.

What are the conditions - no A/C? No roof rack? Minimal/no traffic? No Passenger? I did not see earlier this was a hypermiler experiment - but curious to hear.
