504.8 mile tank

No traffic makes a big difference. I also recall you saying you have nearly zero elevation change and you literally hop on a highway right by your house and hop off the highway right by your office. I've set my cruise control at 65 mph and it you're out on the open, flat road with no idiots pulling in front of you, the mpg indicator just keeps on climbing.

See you in an hour.

This is very exciting. This must be how it felt on the Prius forum when someone said they were going to exceed the posted speed limit in the left lane!!

I think you'll just squeak over 500 if you don't take any sharp turns and slosh the gas.

Thanks - makes me want to try and beat it. I put it on the GX FB page and people just find it so easy to call me a liar. And I get keyboard courage. Just wish there was a way to shut them all up and prove it more factually. A few people have said they have easily gotten 400 at the zero mark.

Either way - we all have choices to believe or not and yes, I could have snuck in a gallon of 2 without saying but why the heck would I do that. This is all for fun and pushing the limits.

kinda of crazy you were able to add ~2.5 gal after the first click. I’ll have to try that!
Report back how much you squeeze in. I’m betting 2+ gallons. And if I’m getting 22.3 mpg - that’s a hell of a lot of miles.

Now you guys are seeing how I did over 500.

I filled up at Costco today and after the regular two clicks after fill I got a range of 270. I'm averaging between 15.9 and 16.9 mixed city highway driving. I'm in Southern Cal so a lot of my freeway driving is stop and go.

What is the weight of your truck currently? Mine currently sits at 6,860 lbs and my range is practically the same at 275. With a lift and large tires I will never see 300.

I’m not sure. I have added weight with the wheels, tires and some weight with the roof rack minus the OEM rack and rails. Where do you get yours weighed?

When I’m out at Anza Borrego I would head to the CAT Scale in Thermal to weigh the truck. There’s another location in Mecca.

There’s one in your neck of the woods down in San Diego.
