What type of transmission do you prefer to drive and why?

Automatics, I grew up driving tractors on a farm in KS. I'm over manual even though its more efficient.

Yes, changing gears can be fun especially when you are thinking some scenes from Fast & Furious

Manual. As crazy as it sounds, if the GX had a manual I would have got that.

Manual !!! I currently have 3 manuals: 86 300zx, 97 maxima, 22 M3 and 2 "fast" autos: BMW 435 and 20 Supra.

The newer performance autos are insanely faster. I bought the slow M3 but the driving experience is unmatched!

That’s pretty neat. I had a 7 speed 991 a few years back and it was the best shifting manual transmission I ever drove. Extremely crisp.

7 speed is a cool concept but always sounds so strange. Especially the vettes that make you go from 1 to 3.

Yep, it depends on the application for me. I don't want my tow vehicle to have a manual, and I definitely wouldn't want the soft top fun car to be automatic.

I was debating on getting a Tacoma a few years ago with a manual. Same concerns with towing and off roading so I stopped looking into it. Glad I didn't because the new body is so nice!
