One day, soon after adjusting my wing mirrors, I noticed that both wing mirrors closed when I locked the vehicle. I thought oh that’s cool, “but I didn’t notice that happening before..”.
A couple quick online searches revealed that the actuator button to turn on and off this feature is labeled “AUTO” next to your electronic wing mirrors adjustment toggles on the drivers side door panel. If the light is lit, the feature is active.
In retrospect when I was adjusting the mirrors, I must’ve accidentally pressed the “Auto” button.
Quick tip: the “Auto” button will not illuminate until the start button is depressed. Otherwise, you can press it all you want it will not illuminate.
It’s nice to have the reduced side profile with mirrors folded as a parking “default”, especially when parked on the street or on in parking lots - so some inattentive or insufferable individual doesn’t smack one inadvertently.
