Downshift when approaching stops

If there is future software update, I wonder if this occurs remotely or if it will require a visit to the dealership. A friend with a new Tundra told me he had his truck into the toyota dealership (no shifting issues)for routine service maintenance and they "reflashed" his transmission software due to an update.

One thing I do miss coming from an F-150 to my GX is the ability to monitor software update status, know when they're available, and in some cases flash them myself.

It is driving me crazy! The dealer repair tech said they can’t feel the downshift on the test drive…ugh…
