Anybody planning on upgrading their Engine Air Filter? I used to run Hondas and always swapped out my filters, initially K&N and more recently Spoon. I know Sprint makes a filter for the URJ150 so hoping they’ll make a 550 filter soon 🙏🏻

Anybody running these? Pros? Cons?

Plan on running these when we get our GX. I am currently using their setup like this in our ST and it works great on throttle response and a little extra engine intake growl.

Would need a tune tho, no? I was just looking for a simple drop in for now

I have been running aFe filters in all my vehicles for many years and love the performance and longevity of them. They still filter out everything that needs to be and giving you some added airflow. I use the drop in currently in my Ram and the Momentum GT in my ST.

Pros of oiled air filters:
  • Increased airflow:
The oil on the filter media creates a sticky surface that traps dirt particles more efficiently while allowing more air to pass through, potentially leading to improved horsepower and acceleration.

  • Reusability:
Most oiled air filters can be cleaned and reused multiple times, making them a cost-effective option in the long run.

  • Potential for performance gains:
In high-performance vehicles where maximizing airflow is crucial, an oiled filter can provide a noticeable performance benefit.

Cons of oiled air filters:
  • Maintenance required:
Oiled filters need to be regularly cleaned and re-oiled to maintain their effectiveness, which can be time-consuming.

  • Over-oiling risk:
Applying too much oil can lead to issues like oil buildup on the MAF sensor, impacting engine performance.

  • Clogging in dusty environments:
The oil can quickly become saturated with dirt in dusty conditions, causing the filter to clog faster.

  • Potential for sensor contamination:
If excessive oil is applied, it can potentially contaminate mass airflow sensors.

  • Higher initial cost:
Compared to standard dry air filters, oiled filters may be more expensive upfront.

Hows the non-oiled version? Always ran non-oiled on my cars. This is my 1st SUV
