Hello, I have a 2026 Premium Plus and I just installed the Westcott Designs lift and put on 22"x9" rims +35 offset with 285/55r22 BF KO3's. Everything looks great but I tested full lock turns before driving and there is going to be rubbing. I've removed crash bars that are behind the front wheels to make space on that end, but up front I have no choice but to trim the inner bumper/fender area. I'd like to get 1/4" to 1/2" clearance.

I've seen several people in the forum say they have done this but no one has elaborated on their process. What to cut, modify, or move. I'd love to hear from some members on what they did and anything to look out for since I'm super nervous about cutting the body plastic.

Any videos, pictures, tips, anything that can be shared would be appreciated. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is running into this that has gone maximum size on tire size.

The lift won't change your scrub radius if your offset is too low.

there are 3 things you'll probably run up against.

  • The small vertical "spoiler" in front of each wheel. Those can be removed easily by unscrewing them.
  • The inner edge of the bumper (the part that holds back the wheel well liner) can be shaved where it's rubbing using a sharp razor blade or utility knife. This is likely the only piece you will have to cut or trim.
  • The inner wheel well liner can be taken care of 2 ways depending on how much you are rubbing. slide it forward in the bumper and drill a new hole to secure it forward or using a heat gun to re-form the plastic to create more "space" where you are rubbing.

This sounds a bit overly simplistic, but you can also just drive very slowly in an open area like a parking lot, turn the wheels, let it rub, and then trim or relocate the rubbed areas. You can rub chalk or vaseline or something similar on the areas you suspect will rub to see for sure what's touching.
