Largest Tire on 2025 OT with stock suspension and wheels (1 Viewer)

I am just about to have some 265/70R18 Falken Wildpeak AT4Ws installed on my stock '25 OT because I understand the 285/70R18 (34s in a Load Range C) won't fit in the spare underneath.
I would really like the extra protection and clearance of the larger tire, but want to carry the same spare.

If someone could help out with ideas on the spare it would be much appreciated!!
Have you considered a spare tire holder on the rear bumper

My ‘24 OT summer wheelset uses a 18x8 +25 wheel, and Toyo AT3 285-70R18 E tire.
I have the MT64 lift, about 2.5”, so total with the larger tire is about 3”. No rubbing.

My spare is a taller-than-normal Cooper AT 275-70R18 E tire, mounted on one of the OE wheels (18x7.5).
This spare fits into the underside spare location, fully inflated, fully seated. It is the same height as my main 4, but is narrower.
You can see both main and spare tire in the pic. They are both about 33.7” tall.

I recently replaced my OEM 265/70R18 Toyos with BFG KO3 275/70R18's on my 2025 OT+, including the spare. While the larger spare fits the underside/mount nicely, it now interferes with my ball mount. I can no longer slide the shank in far enough to use the deep pin hole; I’m forced to use the outer hole, which leaves the hitch sticking out further than I’d like. I'm now looking for a ball mount with a shorter shank or considering cutting my current one (though I don't know if that is recommented). Any suggestions for 'short-shank' drop ball mounts?

I fortunately don’t have that shank length interference issue. I believe I’m using the deeper pin hole; don’t perfectly recall at this moment. But it is correct that my spare is right up to and touching the rear opening.

My ball mount setup is actually sticking out farther (from back of hitch mount) than what is recommended in the owners manual; I think 3”. Don’t have the page handy, but I recall there is a reference sketch there. I debated over that, but, after various tests with my new suspension and new summer wheelset (wider track and E tires, @ 50 psi) I’m having zero issues. The trailer now tows like a gem, tracks great, zero sway, no dangerous bouncing.

Other than height differences, I’m using the same exact hitch, ball setup (WD and anti-sway) as I used on my 2022 Sequoia and our 2017 MBenz GLE43 (air ride suspension).

Happy my KO3's are E Rated for towing and off-road. Ride great at 35 PSI. I do increase tire pressure when towing. The built in Compressor is great. I'm using an Andersen Hitch setup. Since I can't use the deeper pin hole, the increased leverage is noticeable on the rear suspension. I'm looking to have the Andersen shank professionally shortened - cold-cut bandsaw and chamfer the edges.
