Pic Request: Stock 2024 OT/OT+ on 285/70 tires (1 Viewer)

Had 285/70R18 Nitto Terra Grapplers mounted yesterday. 2024 Prem+, stock suspension. No rubbing and the shop said they thoroughly tested it. The E load rated tires don’t feel stiffer than the stock SL loads.

No, the spare is the OEM Toyo, 265/70R18

New tire day! Added 285/70R18 BFG KO3 AT's on stock 2024 OT+ wheels and stock suspension. This is a 34" tall tire and has a minimum rim width of 7.5" which gives a bit more side wall height and bulge which I prefer. Helps keeping rocks and curb off the rims and aids in the flex of the tires as does side wall. Tires look great IMOP bringing the side wall a bit more flush to the fenders. Noise is minimal if at all. Think different sound vs more noise. The Prinsu pro rack had a more significant change and that is relatively quiet. Tires shop said the balanced up fine. There is a more weighted feel to the drive. It feels more sturdy but a bit less agile and sporty. Short highway pass was fine with no added noise over the mirror's and rack. Drove smooth and comfortable. Flex test, 4lo with MTS in rock mode for most flex. Did not have any rubbing in rear, front was clearing all metal brackets and plastic but I forgot to turn wheel fully flexed with it pitched 27 deg. Note the rear sidewall flexing very nice under load at street pressure. I will need to see about airing down the spare or pulling to fit better. As is it doesn't rub and may actually give a better departure since the tread near the bumper is tucked up higher.

I'll take another look this weekend at the spare. It has not made any rubbing sounds so it should be fine. Tested my full flex again and rotated wheel to full lock. No rubbing. It is close but does not touch.

How’s the ride quality with the E-load compared to the stock SL-load tires?

Looks really good! I'm running 275/70/18 KO3's. Now I wish I bumped up in size.

The milage on a hour long mixed hiway and two lane was at 17.4 mpg. A bit lower than I expected but was crappy rain the entire trip. I did notice a light vibration at highway speed so I will need to bring back for balance. New springs are still pending a shop willing to install.

So I'm planning to go with this setup soon. I installed the 25 springs last year, so my biggest concern is the spare.. wondering if deflating will allow it to snug in all the way? I have the OEM compressor coming right now, so I'm not concerned about it not being inflated. Also, did you need to get rid of the crashbar caps in the front?

I ended up having my local Lexus dealer change the springs - about $1800 including an alignment

I did not need to remove inner front crash bar brackets. It has never rubbed. Rear tucks up when deflated to fit at factory angle and no rub on rear track bar. I did need to inflate to just over 25psi to keep the tire pressure low light off.

It looks good - like it’s the just right size on the Goldilocks scale
