Largest Tire on 2025 OT with stock suspension and wheels (1 Viewer)

I would certainly like to hear how those are working as well @rangertrace.

The shop didn't have any availability that fit my calendar for today so I had to push to next Wednesday, otherwise I would have some firsthand knowledge to share about now.

That's looks great 👍

Just to confirm those are the C Load AT4W 285/70-18’s in the pics on stock 2025 OT suspension with no lift or spacers?

How do you find the ride on them compared to stock tires?
Yes it's that tire, but on a 2024 with the Wescott kit. They did use spacers, but I'm not sure which ones. They ride great.

Overall, I'm very happy with the look and ride of the tires. My only complaint is I have a little bit of rub when I back up and turn at the same time. No issues going forward or while driving.

I was trying to stay away from E rated tires for better road compliance. How have those been working out for you?
I like it. Feels slightly firmer, less bouncy balloony. Audi vs Caddy. Took a 1 mpg hit with the heavier, larger tire but it feels much more stable, especially while towing.

I just had some Falken Wildpeak AT4W 285/70r18's installed on my Overtrail stock rims this morning. With the existing 1" Overtrail lift and the Westcott Designs leveling kit, I have no rubbing. I didn't want to go for a full 35" as I'm going to try to fit a 285/70r18 as a spare. The guys at Discount Tire said they wouldn't put the 285/70r18 in the spare tire well because it would damage the tire, but they were able to fit it up in there.

My 2024 OT with 2025 springs also got Falken AT4w yesterday in 285/70-18 load range c. No rubbing in forward/reverse or when turning forward/reverse. Has a finger width of clearance with the fender liner with wheel turned left or right.

Have not stuffed a wheel, but expect it will work out fine and will do minor adjustment of fender liner if needed in future.

I chose keep the factory AT-III as the spare. The spare already hangs down a bit and a narrower tire has less chance of trail damage. I do keep both a puncture repair and a glue-treads sidewall repair kit in the truck constantly. When on the trails I have air with me too.

Next step - check the speedometer accuracy versus a dedicated GPS unit.

Exactly what I plan on doing when the Toyos go

Sorry, I don’t follow. So the 285/70 fits on your spare under the car? You said you are “going to try to fit” one sounding future tense, and add that Discount Tire “wouldn’t put” it there because it will damage it…then you end with saying they did “fit it up there” past tense…. All in one paragraph :)

So you currently have the 285/70 on your spare under the car?

Ha – that was a little back-and-forth! 😆 I currently have the stock 265/70 Toyo tire on a stock rim as my spare. Discount Tire was able to physically push a 285/70 tire, not on a rim, up into the spare wheel well. However, they said they would not mount it on a wheel and install it for me because when they shoved just the tire up in there, it was too tight of a fit, and they were concerned it would be damaged. So I’m going to get a second opinion from a different tire shop in the future to see if they were just being overly cautious. For now, I’m rolling with the stock 265/70 as my spare.

We pass a traffic radar unit everyday and my speedo matched the radar display. But that is at 35mph, could be off at higher speeds of course.

I fit 34’1” Falken Wildpeaks 285/75:/17 on my OT+ with Method 35 offset wheels, no cutting just removing the couple plastic wind deflectors. No rubbing

FYI on my OT speedo and 285/70-18 AT4w. GPS verified that the speedo now reads ~3% under with brand new tires. In numbers, 75mph indicated is 77/78mph actual.

When delivered with OEM tires speedo and GPS were spot on.

Per the title - I can't confirm that the Falken AT4W 285/70R18 Load C rated tires are the largest Tire that will fit on a 2025 OT with stock wheels and suspension, but I can confirm that they fit without rubbing or any modifications. The spare fit as well, though hangs down a little more than the OEM, I expect nearly an inch based on the increase width.

These are a substantial improvement over the OEMs with significantly more tread, and weight which will undoubtedly be a hit to the fuel economy.
Initial noise levels are low, though I imagine that will change with time.

I only heard an extremely minimal amount of rubbing while driving around the parking lot checking full lock in forward and reverse.

Looks good and same size spare is good piece of mind but not quite following. Are you saying that you have a rub at full lock in reverse. That would be a concern for me. Seems like it would be a simple visual check and you'd think the shop would have pointed that out.
