LC roof rack on a GX OT+?

I have the Westcott RR and love it. My GX came with the factory RR which made a lot of noise and negatively affected milage. I also have a moon roof and my Westcott RR is fully functional with all the crossbars installed.
The only concern I have is the waterproofing over time of these racks . My truck will be outside exposed to the elements in private parking. But exposed nevertheless. Any thoughts on this and for which rack would be best for that scenario?

Good question. I don't think the Westcott product has been out long enough for the test. I live on the coast and even though I leave my truck in the garage I do see trucks that are left out in the elements and you can see rust or corrosion overtime here. It's just a fact of life, but I'm not sure which product is best for that. You might want to ask the vendor how they are protected.

It fits. Really well. Super easy install and great instructions. I would recommend this over the Lexus roof rack (noise, not very tight on the roof). I didn't want to wait and didn't need a full length rack either.

I'm thinking about doing this as well, instead of the Westcott, but I'm curious how you filled the voids from where you removed the stock rails? Did you have to buy a new trim piece to fill that back in?

Hello, I have a 2025 Land Cruiser take off roof rack coming soon and will have installed on my GX Premium Plus. Seller had Toyota remove the rack, break it down, and includes all hardware as installed on the LC. Do you think that I need to purchase each of these moldings, and then is it two of each just like you have in the picture? And...do you by chance know where I can get the install instructions or a video...I am pretty useless, but might try it myself if it looks fairly straight forward. Thanks for your help!

From my research, unless you have a overtrail, you will need those mouldings.

you can leave the molding off, but I think a lot of debris can accumulate in those channels underneath the rack. You won't be able to install them one you have the rack legs on.

As for the install, I did the entire install by myself. If you can turn a wrench, you can install this yourself. It can be done solo, but it helps to have someone help you set the rack on the legs

This video should help you. You can see during the installation that he's lacking those 4 rain gutter fillers referenced above. Just note that they are backordered nationally. I waited 2 months on an order (I got 2 pieces but the other 2 were backordered with no delivery date in sight) and ended up buying them from another member here and canceling my order. Also to note, the gutter strip part numbers are the exact same for both Toyota and Lexus, along with a lot of the LC/GX parts, so you can shop prices from both.
