I recently received an unsolicited email from carfax letting me know about needed maintenance and the recent safety recall about the rear camera. That email had all my mileage intervals for past service.

I DO NOT WANT LEXUS SHARING MY INFORMATION WITH CARFAX! AND I DON'T WANT CARFAX SHARING MY INFORMATION WITH INSURANCE INDUSTRY!!

Has anyone already dealt with this issue to stop the information sharing? And if so, how?

In Australia the car comes with a series of pages in the manual with one per scheduled service. The shop performing the maintenance has a stamp and this is applied along with the technician signing the page - you keep the record with the car. Finding the maintenance records when buying a used car is very easy. Since we haven’t got that happening here in North America then carfax is next best thing and incudes accidents/ other repairs. Share your info and increase the resale on your vehicle or do your own services and don’t share. Your choice.

In the US, the Lexus App has a "do not share my data" request if you live in a state that requires it. Unfortunately, you have to access it via the app and it's not available elsewhere.

That's about as much as I was able to determine.
