Love my Overtrail...but (1 Viewer)

25 premium plus. It has lock/unlock sensors on all four door handles and with the right setting, all doors unlock immediately . Do overtrails really not have a sensor in the rear door handles?
Nope, my OT only has lock/unlock sensors on the front doors. There is a setting to determine if all doors unlock or only the drivers door.

Premium and Overtrail lack rear door handle sensors. Every other GX (Premium+, Luxury, Luxury+, Overtrail+) has them. You can decide how you want the driver door handle to function in settings. Touching any passenger door handle with a sensor will automatically open all doors right away.

The OT and OT+ don't have the vents in the rear. I think that's offered on the three row models.
The Land Cruiser in the US doesn't have a 3rd row and has the AC vents in the Ceiling on all trims. I've also seen videos of the Australia OT with what looked like the AC vents in the ceiling. I'd imagine it would be cheaper for Toyota to have zero variance across all models.

Yes, that was the reason I initially purchased that vehicle over the OT+. I don't know why they made that manufacturing choice.

Toyota does some quirky things. LC Premium I have comes with all leather, memory seats, leather, and a digital mirror. We have a XSE Camry that's supposed to be top of the range and yet it doesn't have the memory seats of a lower trim with a premium package.

Then on the other hand, the OT in Australia doesn't have ML sound system. Not even as an option.

Sorry folks for a bad post. Doom on me. I didnt know there was a difference between sliders and a step. I thought they were used the same way. Live and learn. Still love my GX

Ive had my Overtrail for two months. Absolutely love it except for a few minor complaints. First, Im not a fan of the cooling box. I thought I would like it but I don't use it like I thought I would. I would rather have a center console. Second, Im not a fan of the OEM rock slider/nerf bars. My feet are to big to actually use them. I wish they came out more. Other than that....love it
I suspect that this is one of those very individualistic things - context and preference.

My rig is an Overtrail '25, with the "regular" step, which I believe sticks out a bit more than the rock sliders.
I don't need the step though and never use it. Rock rail would be perfect if it wasn't so expensive.

That's because I'm 6'2" - and can actually just comfortably get in the GX 550 without effort.

In contrast, with a sports car that's low to the ground (my other car), it's something you have to focus on if you're 6'2 and head room is also a thing to check. It's actually become one of the things I love about the GX - how easy it is to get in and out of, compared to my low sports car, which can be a chore.

bottom line: Having the ability to check your gx 550 out in person, to get in a show model, is very highly beneficial. We haven't here even mentioned the top / side handles that also help you get in and out, especially when your back is not behaving. (not medical advice)

My biggest complaint is the quality of the front camera. Got to be one of the worst I've seen in many years. I even checked to make sure they didn't leave the clear plastic protective layer on it. Looks like it's looking through Vaseline.
