So having picked up a NYTOP front bumper still brand new in the box from a new friend (ISU3GX). I made some inquiries about the product line that may be of value to those who have this product or intend on purchasing it.
(From NYTOP website)
The NYTOP bumper is made in China, and has had some quality speed bumps along the way. It has gone through 7 iterations per my discussion with NYTOP, which to my surprise is not in New York, but rather located in Southern California.
They are good about getting back to customers, but it doesn’t sound like customer service is their forte.
When one of our forum members reached out to them about their S2 lights not pivoting in the cutouts - and thus pointing outwards, their response was “that’s how it is” .. there was no attempt to remedy the issue.
Search M32’s experience with one of the earlier models (I assume gen 5) - which had issues lining up and required some nightmare, time consuming mods to make it work. Again - NYTOP customer service was very poor. They did not stand behind their product even with first owners and within warranty period.
When I reached out to NYTOP in the past week, they explained that they were VERY aware of M32’s posts and email to their company, and used his feedback to improve QC and make new iterations of the product,
Generation 6 - which I confirmed is the one that I purchased from my friend Isu3gx reportedly was shipped out near the end of 2025 and had its alignment and welding issues “resolved.” MKB shared that his went on without a hitch.
I asked NYTOP what changed between gen 6 and gen 7 and they gave no response (as of yet). NYTOP’s current claim is that the gen 7 they sell has no fitment issues.
My cautionary note to anyone who is buying from NYTOP is that the experience of other forum members has been very disappointing- if you have a problem with your generation 7 NYTOP bumper don’t expect that NYTOP will address it in an acceptable fashion.
I’m waiting for the right time to do my install. (If at all).
One of the problems that I learned from NoNameX - is that once you remove your lower OEM bumper - good luck putting it back.. per NMX - multiple clips will break in the process of removal, and getting those clips is very difficult without buying the entire bumper which is $$$$.
Essentially, once you pull that bumper off you are committed.
In my case, I’m may to try to have the aluminum segment powdercoated black locally and find a friend to install it with me.
NMX shared with me that it’s definitely a two person job. Thankfully, NYTOP has some good install videos out there.
Two last points:
If you are committed to wanting a winch installed in the front of your bumper at some point in the future, the NYTOP bumper is not for you because it will not accommodate that addition.
Second, the NYTOP warranty is only applicable to the first owner / purchaser and does not follow the product if it is sold, as in the case of my “in the box”
gen 6 NYTOP bumper.
Will update with what finally happens. I may wait until Black Friday and look at CBI, Victory, JW or another bumper and pass my gen 6 off to another owner, but will keep all options open until then.
The real value in picking up this bumper was meeting and chatting with Isu3GX.
