Would be interesting to see if you do it. I've found those by poking around other models at the dealership and via pictures. Most of those are very subtle and wouldn't be noticed, like the cupholders. Very minor and kind of strange they would even do that

Just looked at mine - 5.52mm thick. Never knew it was double paned

can anyone confirm that with the overtrail plus the glass on drivers and passenger windows is extra thick?

According to parts.lexus the side glass is the same for over trail and over trail plus.

It’s not. The pictures here have proved it. Top is overtrail and premium glass bottom one is all other trims (premium plus, ot +, and lux trims)

No. It’s also on the premium plus which doesn’t have the ML sound. Basically all GX models except the base premium and regular overtrail has the double laminated side glass.

So now I'm curious if the OT+ glass can be swapped to an OT or if more work/parts are needed than just the glass... I'd really like to do this if it is possible!

Wonder if it also helps with the rattling sound of closing the OT front doors with the windows down since glass is considerably thicker?

I was thinking the same thing. The extra 7 to 9k for the plus is not worth it to me. Everything extra your get would be nothing I would ever need or use. Plus I understand that the massaging seats actually hinder the heated portion of the seat. And
I always use the heated seats.

Again the glass alone makes the door feel tough and heavy and heated seats in the rear Tail gate thing comes in handy too
So it’s kind of worth the upgrade but I get it .. it’s expensive. I saw the LX 600s drop to 107k. Almost jumped ship to that!

It can’t be. The glass is thicker and would require different channels to fit. That’s why the ones with the dual pane glass have that little nub on the front of the window frame. You’d probably need to upgrade all the window seals etc, which I’m not even sure if they’re compatible.

For instance I noticed the trims that have the thicker glass also have extra seals between the front door and rear door and front fender and I wanted to add that to mine, except the seals clip into the doorframe itself with little plastic clips and trims that don’t come from the factory with it don’t have the holes in the door frame for the clips, meaning the OT+ has a different door compared to the regular OT.
