Phone mount

I’m thinking about ordering this one.

I have that one, it’s great. Paired it with a small articulating arm and a QuadLock mag wireless charging mount. Rock solid and gives you the ability to adjust the position exactly where you want the phone.

Does pulling the fuse just turn off the lighter socket or does that turn off the USB plugs as well?
Great question, I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that, as I just used a small piece of rubber underneath the stem ball. I monitored it pretty closely for the first week or so, and check for heat every now and again, still. It's never heated up. On a side note, an added bonus to this set up has only revealed itself to me since the last sunny day. Using the magsafe compatible charger I have causes the phone to beat up slightly, on a sunny day the temperature of the phone rises even more, but I'm also more likely to use the AC, and this mount puts the phone directly in front of the air. Nice and cool at all times.

The latest update on my stem ball phone mount journey. My wife jumped into the GX with me and noticed how easy it was to drop the phone onto the charge magnet, and go. She quickly asked, "where's mine"?. So, here's what I did. Using the same Stem Ball mount, I came off the ball with 1 (One)

BRCOVAN Aluminum Alloy Anti-Theft Double Socket Arm

Then I added an

ARKON Mounts Triple 25mm (1") Ball Adapter

Then, 2 more of the aforementioned Brocovan 1" socket arms, and finally, the 2

Peak Design Mobile Ball Mount Adapter, Qi1 Wireless Charging, Magnetic Mounting Technology

Each of the magnetic wireless chargers is plugged into the USBC ports using 2

6 inch USB C to USB C Cable Right Angle, 0.5ft Short USB-C Cable 100W

I have attached pics from all angles to help demonstrate the set up. Pics are 1, passenger perspective, 2, from underneath. 3, top view and 4, side view from drivers side.

This entire journey has been a process of trial and error, but I must say, I am very happy with the end product.

How strong are the magnets? With a case on my phone I am having trouble finding a magnet that will hold over the bumps.

Here’s a photo of this mount setup for anyone interested.

I love my new mount. It’s eye level which is a huge plus for me. Adjustable angle and position. Does not block vents or screen. Made of aluminum, looks and feels premium. I bought the mount with the MagSafe and no wireless charging.
