I've found the close-and-lock button to be a bit finicky. It usually works for me but you have to literally hit the button and move away for it to work. But then if you start walking away and it doesn't work, you have to walk back like a moron and try again. So I hit the button and do a little hip shake dance move to make it work without getting too far away from the truck. Because that's not moronic at all.
