After a full CTH Cargo Space install (awaiting the lower shelf to arrive any day meow
- Supertroopers reference), I’m now on the verge of the last major interior upgrade for my GX 550: a drawer system and modular sleeping platform.
The idea of taking this route originated in another thread while discussing the new BamBeds Hex product line with Bluegill and others.
Bambed Hex product looks like a nice intermediate step prior to investing in a drawer system / sleeping platform combination. But at $800, it may make sense to skip that step altogether, and go dirextly to a more utilitarian option.
I looked at a variety of other products, starting with trunk mate. But then figured a formal installed drawer system that also serves as a sleeping platform is the way to go.
From my review of what’s out there:
1. ADGU - seems to have the highest quality product - but at the highest price mark. ($3600 - $6500 plus). Pretty impressive marketing and website design!

2. Wheels feels and other similar companies do a less expensive version but without the high end, intensely well engineered and robust hardware of ADGU, that said, they also come with a lifetime warranty (at 1/3 or less the price).

3. Having a set built and installed through a local So Cal craftsman like Outdoor woodworks (Irwin Lizarzabaru). This is the set NoNameEx had installed.
Will share what course I finally take - please also share your experiences, including pros and cons, costs, and any regrets and company kudos.
In life “you get what you pay for..” But this is always balanced with the fiduciary responsibility of finding the best balance between capability and cost.
