I love the idea of adding a bumper w better clearance that is relatively easy to install, doesn’t remove the crash bar and keeps the cornering lights and all sensors.

The recovery hooks give me pause - that looks like a very convoluted way to get to frame.

Seen plenty of reviews of people who seem to like the looks of their new bumper but I would love to hear about real world recoveries and added clearance when off-road.

Much apppreciated!

Here’s my honest assessment:
  1. Fortunately, I have not found myself in a situation where recovery was needed.
  2. Approach angle is improved since the air dams and a portion of the fender liner is removed
  3. More space for larger tire fitment
  4. Would not buy again if given a do-over. Only saving grace is that I got at a discount.
  5. Fitment is not the best. From far away it looks good but up close you can see that fitment has a lot to be desired.
  6. Quality of steel and welding is not great
  7. My biggest issue is the S2 light mounts. In short the mounting points require modification to fit and even then the lights don't sit properly. The lights end up angled out about 45 degrees so they end up being spot lights rather straight fog lamps.
  8. Oh well, you live and learn. Getting a Dissent front bumper in 2026.
