It’s stiffer in general I think, but has levels of adjustment. We’ve dialed it in to our preference. We soften it up for the dirt. It’s also got a tow mode to stiffen the rear for towing.Updates? Does this suspension ride more soft than oem? (oem is already too soft imo)
I'm surprised the rear sags that much with just that little trailer. What's the tongue weight? It’s stiffer in general I think, but has levels of adjustment. We’ve dialed it in to our preference. thank you for posting the pictures… What front bumper did you go with?Like your build, I went with Wescott, may go up more after more trail testing.
The Icon lift is a leveling lift, so any trailer is going to weigh it down. Stock GX 550 has a rake built in, so when you tow, it levels out.I'm surprised the rear sags that much with just that little trailer. What's the tongue weight?
Maybe Eibach will make the load leveling rear coil system they made for the 4Runner and make our lives easier. The Icon lift is a leveling lift, so any trailer is going to weigh it down. Stock GX 550 has a rake built in, so when you tow, it levels out.
Tongue weight for this camper is about 350lbs. We’re going to go back for stiffer springs in the rear as our new trailer (not pictured) has a 500lb tongue weight.
Barely notice a difference. The ICON CDEV shocks are heavy hitters. I thought I’d feel more body roll, but the shocks adjusted and haven’t really noticed.nice upgrades, how does it ride with the extra weight?
We’re at about 10k on them. Went on a week long trip. Forest service trails, mild but rocky rough at times. Never felt the need to air down. If I were in my Wrangler, airing down would have been the first thing I did. Super smooth ride. How many miles with the Icon Stage 10 CDEV? I'm still laying low on my suspension purchase and gathering data.
The CDEV from ICON is an independent system and works well. We’ve never noticed any issue from the AVS disconnect. From what I understand, it only throws a code when the battery is disconnected/reconnected. I anticipate that the fix for that should be completed soon.Great feedback, thank you. 10k miles is a good amount of distance to get to know the suspension. Any issues with the AVS disconnect or any updates from Icon? If I recall correctly, you were working with them a bit on resolving the "incompatibility" issue that seemed to be associated with AVS disconnect....
I took it back to ICON with the new weight and trailer hitch / ball weight information. They swapped the rear springs for a stiffer spring rate to compensate for the changes. Are you still using the icon rear coils or did you find heavier ones?
