Overland Expo is just around the corner, so I wanted to take a moment to share my build with the community. Say hello to “The Yeti”. So far, this build includes:

How much does your rig weigh? I'm contemplating adding portals and a rear bumper but quite concerned about the overall weight.

I believe the 74Weld portals already provided the lift so needed the Westcott collar/space to level the vehicle. Probably not enough weight in the rear to require higher rated springs.

Yes ok for lift but what about performance, ride quality, comfort?

I have asked that question for people with portals but no one has responded. Supposedly, the ride should be OEM. I have heard that there have been some issues with the portals that nothing public. More like private campfire talk which gives me pause about taking the plunge.

Every 3K - 5K. Trying to decide if it is worth the hassle especially with the price of having it.

I've seen Frank's and talked with him about it, and the actual portals are incredibly impressive. The ride is supposed to be just like OEM, which makes sense because you still have (or can still have) the stock suspension, you're just putting everything up on the portals. (Frank has a full King setup.) The look is certainly impressive but I don't want to take it that far. This truck splits daily driving with my 911 and there are more times than not when I need the room in the truck. It's hard enough for my wife & kids to climb in now. I also haven't really found anything that I can't tackle (and want to tackle) that makes me think I need to go bigger.

I've never weighed it, but let's add it up:

Portals ~200 lbs
5 Tires 180 lbs (each tire is 36 lbs heavier than stock)
Front and Rear Bumpers 255 lbs
Rear Bumper Swing Outs 110 lbs
Winch 55 lbs
Roof Rack 30 lbs (difference from removing stock roof rails)
Upper Light Bar 12 lbs
Sliders 43 lbs (difference from removing overtrail stock setup)
Skid Plate 50 lbs

So, in total, I've added about 935 lbs. Base weight is 5675 lbs. Total weight would be 6610 lbs.

This is correct. Just for leveling.

The ride is surprisingly good. Not OEM, but much more comfortable than driving a Wrangler. The portals maintain factory suspension/steering geometry. However, all of the added weight does make it feel heavy, with some loss in braking and acceleration obviously.

How are you liking the Dissent products? The rear bumper was a pain to install but looks great. I'm just waiting for the swing outs now. The portals are an expense upgrade which I'm not sure is worth it. I had added a King 3" lift on my 4runner which more than I needed. I added Dobinson heavy duty springs in the rear of the GX for towing the camper and left the Ready Lift kit on the front for now. I'm on the fence as far as the front bumper goes. The dissent bumper looks awesome but its about $6,500 with the winch and lighting its a little pricy.

We'll have to get a Arizona trip setup with the rest of the group in AZ.
