Tire questions and seeking opinions, please. Rough ride after wheels and tires.

IN regard to Ryan (OP) question my feeling is that Lexus sold us their version of a specialty tire with a weak sidewall and a good ride quality. when you buy your new tires the game changes. Most SUV tires will be a stronger construction and a little stiffer ride. LT tires will be a lot stronger and even stiffer ride. Yes the 18 inch will have more flexibility than 22 inch. Play with the tire pressure to improve ride no matter which tire you like. Also play with the tire pressure when going off road. I feel the sidewall strength is important as it stays strong no matter the tire pressure you need. My 2 cents.

I lifted my 2025 GX550 Overtrail with the Westcott lift with 35 inch Toyo Open County AT3 tires on 17 inch Method 703 wheels. I debated whether to go with the C or E load rating on the tires for ride quality on the street. I went with the C rating that has 6 sidewall plys verses the E rating with 10 plys. The C rating tire flexes more and makes up for the Westcott lift spring load stiffness. The ride firmness is close to the stock ride on the street.

Anybody feel like their suspension breaks in and softens after a while?

I just put my factory Lux 22s w/ factory tires back on at after the winter at ~9000 miles and it feels pretty cushy and smooth compared to when I first bought it. Not sure if I just got used to it or whether the suspension & bushings actually broke in, but I don't feel those harsh, high-frequency vibrations that I did when it was new.
