TSB

Yep , thanks. I was wondering if there were any other ones out there, I have been asking the dealer service center about hood flutter, I get the “ all the new vehicles do this” answer. They also told me that squealing brakes were not a problem also.

I will go back with the TSB to get that problem resolved.

To check for TSBs you can use the NHTSA website below. Make sure the "Vehicle" tab is selected and put in "2024 Lexus GX 550" in the "VIN or Year Make Model" field. Note, do NOT put in your VIN and do not put in your license plate. Click the "Search" button then click the "Manufacturer Communications" number that shows up and it will take you to a list of all the TSBs broken down by Component type.

Lexus on February 7, 2025 issued a TSB for “abnormal hood fluttering.” I am too inept to attach it but it is for GX 550’s built before VIN JTJTBCDX#R5020717 when a “production change” was purportedly implemented.. Claims that in some vehicles built before that date the “mastic between the outer panel and the hood brace may have separated.” The repair seems a tad amateur, cutting urethane foam blocks and using adhesive to install it between the outer hood panel and hood brace, but what do I know!

Good luck.

My VIN is after the one listed in the TSB. I do have some hood flutter, but it's minor and doesn't bother me so maybe they did do something in production to help with that.
