Unused connector? (1 Viewer)

So mid way under my rock rails was this connector - thinking it must be for the power steps that are on the Luxury and Premium models. Trying to determine if the door opening triggers it - that would open up the possibility of adding LED lights or other accessories under the car.

Thoughts?

Yes put your test light in there with the door open see if you have power.

I think it is for the power steps.

Interesting find, was the connector capped/plugged from factory to protect from corrosion?

If you had the rock rails, this connector is for the single led light in the OEM Running boards and not the Luxury + power side steps. It should go on/off with with the exterior/door courtesy lights.

Great - I will use that as power for additional under rock rail lights
