Vin Numbers not matching (1 Viewer)

My wife and I both put deposits on a GX and an NX early January. We were provided the vehicle VINS’s & price breakdowns. My wife’s car has arrived at the dealership and my GX should arrive any day now. My sales rep sent me the final breakdown and the VINS do not match from what we ordered.

The colors and price are the same.

Has anyone run into this when ordering their vehicles?

Are the trim and options the same as you expected? If so, I wouldn’t worry about it.

I believe if the VINs you were previously given have any letters in the last 6 digits, then you were given a temporary allocation VIN, which is the only thing available before the vehicle is manufactured.

That VIN then becomes a "real" VIN with numbers in the last 6 digits once the vehicle is manufactured and stamped with an official VIN.

The temporary VIN just allows people to get a specific vehicle / option combo allocated to them and for dealers to be able to look up the planned build specification - all before Toyota knows what actual, legal VIN will be assigned to it.

My VIN changed from the window sticker image I was sent when the vehicle was in production to the actual sticker that came on the truck.

All details were correct except the VIN.
