I realized that I joined this forum 2+ years ago as I was beginning to consider what my retirement vehicle was going to be as a replacement for my 2015 Toyota Highlander Limited Platinum (I had a similar 2009 HL before it).
Once I realized that the four-door Toyota trucks (Tacoma/Tundra) would not fit in my two car garage (length and height issues), and that I wanted true 4WD (not a car-based SUV's AWD), it came down to the 4Runner, LC, and GX 550. I decided on the GX 550 and in mid-January I got on the waiting lists of all four Lexus dealerships in DFW. I even purchased the same lift/tire/wheel set-up described here in February and put them in storage.
It took three months of waiting but my 2026 Luxury+ in Nightfall Mica finally came in late April and I had the lift/tires/wheels installed the next week.
I look forward to learning and sharing in this forum!
Magnuson has components for the GX550 engine now, does anyone have any insight to this upgrade? Would you consider doing the same to a twin turbo v6?Hello from Chicago area. Have a 2024 Overtrail+. Coming from Tacomas and 4Runners. My last was Lifted and Magnuson supercharged.

Absolutely No. I had a bad experience with Magnuson. Especially their customer service.Magnuson has components for the GX550 engine now, does anyone have any insight to this upgrade? Would you consider doing the same to a twin turbo v6?
Welcome!Hey yall hey!
Not new to Lexus. Saw the link posted to the enthusiast group. Have a ‘25p+ she’ll be 1 5/30. 18+k miles thus far. She just got a lift and new wheels/tires. Need to add the RTT back on and we are good to go for overlanding. 2 kids, own a Petcare biz and help out at a local brewery near md/pa line. View attachment 21739View attachment 21740
Looks great - just don’t pull a ‘Thelma and Louise’Hey GX gang!
I got my Atomic Silver OT+ a couple of months back and I’m excited to be here on the forum.
I’m a big fan of Toyota and Lexus trucks. I’ve had a 2010 LC200 and a 2019 4R TRD Pro. But the one truck that has kept me entertained for 20 years and still going strong is my 2007 FJ Cruiser. I’ve built it just the way I like it, and it’s been a blast offroading—from the SoCal mountains and deserts to the Rubicon trail to Moab, and meeting awesome people who are so generous in sharing their knowledge and experience on the forums.
Fingers crossed this GX will keep me entertained and engaged for years to come.
I took this photo because I loved how the body lines were highlighted by the afternoon sun.
