đź‘‹ Welcome to the Lexus GX 550 Forum! Please post an introduction thread!

Hello from Houston! Been on a waitlist since Nov. '24 and will be taking delivery near the end of May (Lux+). Excited to be a part of the community and collab with y'all! This has been a great resource preparing for ownership! Really appreciate it

Hey all. Houston Texas based embarking on end of July time frame delivery on GX Lux+. Sold off a GMC 2500HD and only a Kia Telluride SX Prestige in the stable. I will trade that in to get rid of possible quality issues later (not bad but trim coming off and recalls and questionable long term engine). Excited about GX and looking to make it my own. Sad I won't have AUX swtiches in LUX+ but not much offroading really down here.. I pian to add my own toggle switch hidden in the interior for the aftermarket white lamps I'll be adding. I did it on my R8, the truck and ever other vehicle so we'll see where a potential good spot is LOL. I'm one of those get a vehicle and immediately start making it better types haha.. Wheels already purchased and i'll do a collar lift if I have to for the tires..

I typically pull a color matched (to GX) white/black enclosed 8x10 motorcycle trailer (Indian Scout bobber white/black to match GX, unplanned) or a super high powered jetski AND who knows what else in the future haha I'm a huge car person..

Hello Everyone!
New OT owner here in the Tulsa, OK area!

We picked it up a few weeks ago in Memphis and took the scenic route home over the next day and a half managing its first campground and a visit to the local climbing crag.

We are replacing a LR4 that we have had for 10 years and put 180k plus miles on in that time. A good portion of those miles being 2 week overland-ish trips with our two pre-teen boys fly fishing, climbing, mountain biking, hiking, free camping, etc. We spend most of our time between here and the Rockies, but worked in visits to every border except the west coast.

Appreciate all the great info on the forum already!

Now it's time to make it ours and rack up the memories!

Hi GX community - new OT+ owner and embarking on our over-landing journey. A lot of great mind sharing in these forums. Great to see! Hope to contribute and give my $0.02 along the way.

Hi all. Picked up a new OT last week and enjoying it so far. Coming from a couple 5th Gen 4Runners and most recently a 2018 GX460. I am in the greater Philly area. Looking forward to the 550 content on here.

Hi all. This forum is a fantastic resource with approachable enthusiasts. I've enjoyed lurking and learning until I can buy my GX.

Huge thanks to the community and mods.

Been cross shopping between the LC and GX for my wife, and she seems to have decided on the GX Prem+. We'll be trading our '13 958 GTS in (it'll be missed). This would be our first Lexus and have been using this forum to try and understand how to "order" one...really wish I could order a personally configured one but oh well. Hoping it all works out!

Hi all, new member here of what seems to be a great forum. I've been lurking around reading a lot as I researched my next vehicle. I just put my "order" in with my local dealer to have them source me an Overtrail via allocations. They are a pretty high volume dealership and expect a 2-3 month timeframe based on what they've been experiencing so far for 2025. The goal is Incognito with black roof & black interior, moonroof delete, HUD and flexible on most other options, expecting I'll be forced to take some stuff I don't necessarily care about like cool box, wireless charger, etc. As a former 4Runner TRD Pro owner, I'm very much looking forward to the much better powertrain and technology.

I always like the idea of the previous GX model but hated the Lexus spindle design front end. This new GX design is fantastic inside and out. It all works together very cohesively and I feel like the designers avoided falling into the trap of too many different curves, angles, weird proportions or overdone details just for the sake of being unique that ruin a lot of modern vehicles. It's a great looking design that should stand the test of time (except maybe the diaper but that's really not a big deal).

Looking forward to contributing more once I get my GX.

Greetings. After 15-months of watching and waiting I left Friday for a 650-mile drive from Pensacola to Margate, Florida to trade my Tundra for a 2025 Premium + GX. The Eminent White Pearl GX was waiting for me at JM Lexus. The process from start to finish took about 10-days. Their offer for my trade was based on the VIN# and some photos. The honesty, integrity and price from this dealership was impeccable. I drove away in shock since I've never had a positive new car purchase in many years of life. I highly recommend this dealership. I deal with one person only, (Zach.)

I still learning how to set things up using the YouTube "Deep Dive" videos. They're very helpful. Lot's of great information here and glad to find the group.

Looking for opinions on the OEM PPF kits for just the front end. Has anyone done a "do it yourself" purchase on one the available kits? Thanks for any thoughts.

Congratulations.

Happy to find this website with a random search for opportunity to sell
a heavy duty roof rack that attaches to rails in the roof. It was attached to the car when purchased from local dealer in Richmond Va. Removed when I picked the GX 550 last Fall and it been stored in my basement ever since. Make an offer?
Original cost on bill of sale $1450.
Will send pictures if requested.

We finally got our GX this past Monday.

In theory our first GX that was in the train, derailed and “only one” vehicle was damaged and was ours.

Happy that we got another one with the exact same options.

Wife loves it. My homework is now, what wheels and tires. So far my #1 option is Fuel Sigma 22 inch by 9.5 inches
Tires BFGoodrich KO3 275/50 Load E.

Just waiting for a “deal” on wheels and tires.
