🛠️ What did you do in your GX today? (1 Viewer)

New wheels and tires, Westcott rock sliders and the TRD performance exhaust. Busy couple of work days coming but will try to post pics somewhere (probably in my feeble build thread) over the weekend.

My GX experienced its first time at the beach and I got the call parts in to fix brakes. Only took 4 months!

Jesus, at first glance on my phone with the snapshot pic I saw "first day at the beach", and what looked like your GX in brackish water up to the windows. Don't scare me like that.

I first thought he somehow buried it in the sand up to the windows!

nice! I have a Riversmith rod carrier looks similar. When I get my allocated OT, hopefully in a few weeks, will put rods on roof and hit the rivers out east here in MD and PA.

Gave it a quick rinseless wash after the last (for now) round of updates.

Your rig looks sharp. Like the rod mounts. I putting a Prinsu rack on tomorrow and have the fly rod mounts on order. Really looking forward to having the tubes mounted outboard, Previous tube mount on 4Runner was 2 feet inboard. Big PITA.

Thanks! Our 4Runner has a Denver Outfitters (now THULE) rod vault mounted about a foot inboard on their really tall perches. With the hitch-mount bike rack on the back it's a major pain in the ass to reach your rods. This is super accessible.

I still have that very same triple tube rod vault. Got it in Basalt. Used to crawl up on rear tire to open it. Has lasted 15 years and still going strong!

Wheels: 8.5 x 17, +25 offset
Tires: 285/75r17 Toyo Open Country A/T III

No trimming and zero rub with the 1.25in front leveling kit
You probably answered this somewhere already but how’s the ride with the Westcott kit?

Since I got a small puncture, that destroyed the stock Toyo tire, I had to perform some mods. ARB MT64 shocks and proper Toyo 275/70r18 AT3 tires.

I raised the front ride height by 1.5"
The ARB shocks increased travel by about 2" over stock. The stock upper arm does contact the coil at full droop.

Initial impression is that they ride pretty good.
