🛠️ What did you do in your GX today? (1 Viewer)

@BoostedGX - Looks good as do the wheels. Interesting how you have colour matched mirrors in white on your OverTrail. How are you liking your KO3's? What PSI?

I bought the oem painted white mirror covers as I like those color matched. KO3s feels like a typical E load …. I’m at 34psi on all 4 cold and considering going down to 32psi

We came to the unfortunate decision that we would be trading in the GX. We love this rig but the size just doesn't do any favors for a 3 year old and one on the way.

We love the GX so it was a difficult decision but we will be moving to something bigger, and not the LX. The price point doesn't make sense.

Our options are:
Yukon/Sierra - with the 3.0 Duramax. We had the 2022 with 6.2 but didn't like the lingering lifter issue. 3.0 will be better for boat hauling too.
Sequoia/Tundra - Better price point, terrible trunk space (non issue with Tundra).

Had a Tacoma and loved the truck aspect which is why we are considering a full size truck option. We'll see though.

Bummer, appreciate your contributions to the forum. Congratulations on the new addition to your family and best of luck with the new truck decision.

Over 100 miles off road the past 2 days. AZ has had historic rainfall this past week and everything is muddy. Finally used the terrain select feature while in high range gears. The mud setting actually works. We got stuck in deep deep slick mud and I stopped and set the dial to mud and it pulled itself right out. Very impressive. Mud setting turns off VSC and cranks the throttle response up about 1,000 percent! Good times.

Spent the weekend at Oceano Dunes, Pismo Beach. Only place in California that you can legally drive and camp on the beach. Drove the dunes during daylight hours and retired by the water at night.

Highly recommended for those in Southern California.

do you need to make reservations to camp? is there a permit required to drive on the beach?

You don't have to make reservations to camp but highly recommended for busy weekends. The fee is $10 per night for overnight camping. During this period camping is allowed between posts 2 - 6.

You can drive on the beach using the day pass ($5) if you don't intend to camp. Entrances to Oceano is off Grand Ave or Pier Ave. You will need a flag if you plan to tackle the dunes. The fine is $500 if you're caught with no flag. Plenty of park rangers around ticketing people for speeding and such.

Hope you can make it. Also, keep an eye for high tide if you intend to go. Good luck.

Any kind of flag is fine? pole height requirement? Thanks

Today my GX received its “break-in” oil changed at 600 miles: Our dealership is so baller they changed it for free.

Wrapped my A-pillars w/ 3M 2080 piano black vinyl to match the roof. A bit tricky removing the windshield trim and hood cowlings, but got her done without breaking any clips (for once).

Still debating whether to replace the small trim pieces with new OEM black ones or just leave them gray.

10 days of ownership, first step towards an overlanding setup: alternator charger connected. With this and my portable 350W solar panels: close to unlimited electric power supply without the hybrid space limitations (LC and 4R).
Now on to the fun part of planning the layout... - curious about 8020 aluminum extrusion designs for the interior, especially with the second row of seats removed. Need to accommodate power bank, refrigerator, Ecoflow Wave AC/heater, and bed for 6'4". The rest: fill the gaps...

did a thing a got a Carplay AI box to try out. Allows a higher resolution for Carplay (3 rows and maps look way better) and also allows video (Youtube, Netflix, Disney etc.) to play when stopped (and in motion).

Has some initial quirks connecting to my phone's hot spot that I have to figure out. Has to remain connected to the USB port but I'm still on the fence if the better carplay interface and video capability is worth the extra steps needed to connect.

Tell me more on how you got Netflix on the screen.

I think you're referring to munkeeboi but to answer you question, you would need a Magic Video Box to stream from your phone. I wouldn't recommend watching Netflix while driving, however.
