New 2025 Cars About to Enter “Leftover” Status

The transition between model years is usually a time when dealerships are eager to offload leftover inventory to make room for new arrivals. While 2025 model year vehicles remain prominent on new car lots, these 22 cars still have between 60% and 90% of their 2025 model-year inventory available. Dealers know these cars will be less appealing starting January 1, 2026, giving buyers more leverage as the year comes to a close.

If there is so much 2025 inventory, why are dealers marking the GX up?......

So they don't really tell you what their analytics or proprietary algorithms actually do.

I don't believe much I read these days.

Methodology iSeeCars analyzed over 2.6 million new cars listed for sale between November 22 and 30, 2025. The share of each nameplate’s 2024, 2025, and 2026 model years was calculated. For the list of New Cars with the Highest Share of 2025 Inventory, models had to have at least 10% of their inventory from the 2026 model year to be included. Heavy-duty vehicles, lower-volume models, and cars discontinued prior to the 2025 model year were also excluded from the analysis.

Unless Toyota/Lexus is taking lessons from Rolex, I find it really hard to believe.
Yeah, I don't buy that at all. I was just checking out the Longo Lexus GX inventory and everyone one of them has a sale pending, and every time I go into my local dealership for the various TSB's, routine maintenance or the camera recall, they try to extend an offer to buy my OT+. That never happens with my LX.

Haha, clearly numbers were taken out of context, the GX and LX are always low inventory vehicles and 2026 models have not arrived quite yet. Therefore the existing inventory comprised of most 2025 models. However, the existing inventories are vehicles available to be sold, not waiting to be sold, there is a difference...

I do not believe that for a second when the dealer I have mine serviced at offered me just below sticker for mine when I crossed 5K miles - said that they can't get OTP+, but they can make big mark ups on CPOs
