I'm likely going with this size once the OEMs wear out on my wheels

Yeah mud flaps were a must. The amount of road grime from stock tires was crazy and I even had a few rock chips on the doorsI see you went aftermarket mud flaps for the coverage
I installed the EV version of the 275/70/18 Toyo AT III in SL and recommend them. Better/firmer handling, more tread, low weight. Stock 2025 OT wheels & suspension works out great. At 35k miles on factory OE tires and they are close to done.
Ordered new tires and they arrived. Headed to Discount Tire tomorrow to get the normal toyo open country AT3’s in 275/70/18 on my ‘24 overtrail. I have no lift and plan to keep everything stock. Will upload photos tomorrow.
I wanted to minimize additional weight, so I got the SL non E rated version. I think they are built for EV’s but i’ve read enough and spoken to enough people to know the EV tires should work fine.

In for pics. This is what I plan on runningAt 35k miles on factory OE tires and they are close to done.

Got the the 275/70/r18 toyo AT3 open country EV SL tires put on today. They definitely look more substantial than the stock tires. The treads are much deeper than the OE overtrail tires. The OE AT3’s always looked slightly undersized to me. The 275/70/r18’s look to be exactly proportionately sized to the vehicle. From other’s photos, the 285’s look slightly oversized to meIn for pics. This is what I plan on running
You're right - definitely look more proportional to the truck now, looks good!Got the the 275/70/r18 toyo AT3 open country EV SL tires put on today. I have photos below that don’t do justice to what they look like in person, but i have photos below that show how deep treads are and distance from front tire to front fender (just under 2 inches)
I do have the OME MT64 lift..about 2.5” over the original ‘24 OT. We left a bit of rake to accommodate level towing when hooked up (so I could avoid use of airbags).I have been lurking here for a few months and I got the Rugged Trek idea from your post when you were figuring out what would/wouldn’t fit in the spare area. So thanks. Do you have a lift or leveling kit of any kind? Or wheels with a lower offset to fit the 285’s? I have seen too many conflicting posts stating trimming is or isn’t required to fit 285’s on OEM wheels.
Thanks for the response and appreciate the feedback.I do have the OME MT64 lift..about 2.5” over the original ‘24 OT. We left a bit of rake to accommodate level towing when hooked up (so I could avoid use of airbags).
I have a 18x8 +25 wheel for the 4 mains, not the OEM 18x7.5 wheel. With what I’ve done I didn’t need any trimming or parts removal. My tire tread comes just even with the top of the OT black plastic wheel arch. The side walls poke out just a bit creating a nice look. I do have mud flaps. Overall I achieved a good, not overly aggressive look, and not a chunk full look; and the wheel track (width) I needed for towing an 8’ wide trailer.
So obviously the OEM wheels would be tucked in tighter, and with a much wider 285 tire..I’m not sure about that. Also, I don’t recall which brands approve a 7.5” rim for a 285 width tire.
But the Cooper with the height of a 285, and width of a 275, and the Westcott should fit well on the OEM. With that taller tire..you should end up with a really nice look.![]()
