I picked up my OT earlier this month and absolutely love it except for the clunking noise when going over bumps. There is definitely something loose feeling or suspension parts hitting one another. The day I bought it I had a service person take a ride with me and she heard it as well. She said its because of the sway bar and the EKDSS and its typical for OT’s but they would look at it when I brought it in. I didn’t really buy her explanation but thought it will be addressed when I took my vehicle in.

My question is who else on this forum has had a similar issue and was it resolved and if so how?

Don't think I've had the clunking you describe (2025 OT), however.... I did get a clunk over bumps and when I turned the wheel to full lock after the dealer did an oil change. Turned out they didn't quite align the skid plates when they re-installed and they were contacting something (maybe sway bar). Easily fixed, and why I do my own oil changes...

I had to laugh when signing the paperwork the finance guy said changing your own oil will void the warranty. I just shook my head and said no to the maintenance plan

My finance guy said the same thing. I just said "Okay" then left with the car.

seriously.. changing the oil yourself voids the warranty?, is that where they really drew the line, what about washer fluid am I allowed to touch that :(

Everyone got side tracked on this but yes I am experiencing the same issue finaly got a tech to hear it and feel it. The noise comes when at least driving 30mph hitting small bumbs. And when I coast at 40mph and turn wheel I feel a knocking in steering wheel. It’s been in shop for days they said it’s one of 3 things but have to prove it I. Order to get free parts from warranty… now because of that it’s not priority they won’t be reimbursed for tech time so car sits until someone frees up very annoying

No clunking on my 25 OT

Mine was in the shop for 4 days they can’t change any parts without proving the part is at fault they reached out to field techs and they said to readjust and retorque the whole front suspension
Got the car back but haven’t driven enough they said they compared it to another OT plus and they drive the same
I’ll report back after a good day of driving

My 25 OT does not have this issue. Are you sure it is the suspension and not the transmission.

I have read to ask for I believe it’s called nuts and bolts where they check the torque on everything. I have also read there can be play in the front drive shade and that it needs to be greased. All I know for sure is I want the problem resolved. If it was a 10k car I could understand but for 90K I don’t want to feel my front suspension clunking over every bump in the road. At this point I am trying to get as much information as possible before I take it in.

Mine has a feel that’s hard to describe. Seems to be from the front driver side suspension at low speeds. Kind of just more resistance that I can feel. Happens rarely. I’ve looked everything over and find nothing loose or rubbing. Figure it’s either the shock or sway bar connection on that side.

Most people wouldn’t notice it and I’m not worried about it. It will either get better or worse with use.

Land Cruiser also has similar complaints. Many of those owners found that it was skid plate mounting.. Might ask your dealer to loosen & remount the OT’s skid plates. Had a ‘23 Sequoia w/ complaint & the TRD skid plate was the issue. Loosening & retightening fixed issue.
