2026 OT Front clunking noise. RESOLVED (1 Viewer)

They retorqued the front end and it’s 75 percent better I still think a faulty part but no way to prove but if we all email Lexus support and put in a claim they might realize what it is and put in a service bulletin or this is how it drives.. in another 2k miles I’ll be at my 5k service and re evaluate

To the original post: I had the clunking noise. It sounded like it was in the front but found it was coming from the rear.
What it was is under the back cover on my OT, there are 2 braces under the flat panels. When you go over a small bump the brace hits the body. I had to make 2 idolaters out of nylon plastic. I loosened both braces on both sides and slipped them under the braces. Tighten them back down and the clunking went away. Hope this helps.

Well you have my curiosity and would it be possible to post a photo of where these braces are? Thank you

How did you make the idolaters?

I got 2 pieces of nylon 8" long x 2" wide x 2" high. I milled half of it down to 3/8". The other side to 5/8". I cut them in length to 5". I narrowed it down to 1-1/8". It ended up like an L shape 5" long.

Pass side rear sway bar mount.
Take close look at lower sway bar mount nut - you’ll notice it’s backed almost off, and see where washers are loose.

Can we see this without our truck on a lift? Can we self tighten? Can anyone circle the exact spot ?
This view is w/ vehicle on the ground/laden
  • this is passenger side from under vehicle looking forward
  • red arrows show you the nuts that need to be checked
  • 2 yellow dots are what need to be tightened on each side
  • *** Notice on lower nut there are no threads protruding as the nut is about to come off, & washer/spacer behind it is loose & you can see pretty clearly where it is supposed to be sitting normally

Bro that is wild. Like how?

Clunking/loose fitting front suspension problem solved. I came across a thread that explained how to lock the EKDSS in place and switched the mode to Eco and sport mode and it’s now all good. All the research, crawling under the car to look for what other suggested and it was simply a turn of the knob. One of the joys of getting older. Anyways for anyone else with EKDSS and you hear clunking or a loose feeling front suspension just switch the mode.

Thanks for all of the input and suggestions. I appreciate your efforts

I had a Westcott lift added at time of purchase. This happened around 6 weeks into ownership. Vehicle got very squirrely while driving.
Didn’t know Westcott says all of the parts have to be re-torqued after 500 miles. Check while the vehicle suspension is on the ground, not just unladen up on a lift.
I just learned the same thing from the shop that installed the lift that came with my OT+. They said they tell all the customers to re-torqued and realigned at 1000 miles. They were surprised the dealer didn't tell me that.
