24 vs 25 OT OEM 1” Lift Details via reddit

Had the '25 springs installed today -adds about 1.25" on the front and 1.5" on the back; those distances are from the wheel arch trim to the same spot on the tires before and after (ball park distances with a tape measure). Did not do much driving yet - but does not feel much different. Spring install with alignment and camera/light leveling was $1800 - so not too crazy. Some dealers wanted north of $2500 to do the work. Still over priced at $1800 - but better to have Lexus do this than an aftermarket shop.

Dealer did tell me they have seen a couple OT+ coming in from off road shops with damage to the EKDSS system - that is an expensive mistake at well north of $5K to repair that.

Dealer had two CPO's on the floor with the 275 wheels that look just a little too big - maybe go with those or 270's at tire time.
Why did you swap out front and rear and not just front?

No real details - but the service mgr is a pretty straight shooter
Not trying to hijack this conversation, but thought I’d add this short description of how the EKDSS is apparently suppose to be accommodated during suspension work on our GXs. Last year there was some similar discussion.
So after I had my MT64 lift kit installed at Slee I asked them a couple questions. See the attachment with their answer. Maybe this will be helpful to some.

Good info - it might have paid more at the dealer, but have read on the forum some folks dealing with a nightmare where the 3rd party shop had an issue and who was going to pay for the fix.

That is fantastic, just shared with a shop. I was looking for this type of info just last week. Very helpful indeed. Thanks again for sharing what the team at Slee noted. I hope to have a set of 2026 springs installed soon.

Pics? Still want to do this but cant find the springs at a reasonable price

Pics do not do very much - measured from the tire to the wheel well edge. Look at Lexus of Akron - $1100 - no sales tax, could not find a better price anywhere else on line. If you stand next to the front wheel the vehicle does feel larger/raised; but nothing obscene or disproportional.

Looks like I may do on my own. Any photos of the front eKDSS sway bar valve/bleader/pressure relief location would be appreciated. Also, is the rear less of an issue? Maybe just disconnect the bar end links? Was also wondering if it could be put into off road drive mode like rock or dirt that may release it and keep released after turning truck off? I saw the Slee note prior.

Eric:

My gut says let the dealer do it - they are liable for issues and since it’s the dealer the warrantee is good. If you do anything to the EKDSS it’s a $5k+ mess given some of the folks that has issues from good 3rd party installers.

I thought about buying the spring compressors and trying it out- but at the end of the day the possibility of an ‘oh shit’ moment made me go to the dealer.

Hmmm. The note provided by sleeping team sounded promising. I'll take at as a fair warning though. Any other advice...it's free by the way.

Note that the Slee basic explanation I posted references ‘the repair manual’. It does sound simple. But I would want that manual on hand so I could see all the details, warnings, etc..if I was thinking to do the work myself.
Hope it goes well if you choose that path. 😊

Good luck - and yep it’s my opinion which is worth less than dirt. The sensors and other fun bits are what concern me working on the springs part.
Let us know how it goes - you could be the trendsetter here.
