25 OT Larger Tire Fit

My dealer offered to reprogram the vehicle to not recognize the spare as an option.

Came up when my TPMS went haywire while I had a tire repaired.
Didn't know this could be done. Sounds like a good solution. I forgot to have Discount Tire put the sensor in my new 34" spare and I keep getting the pop-up warning.

Just a heads up when looking at tire fit is also to look at wheel fit if you're on OEM wheels. They're 7.5", and on some tire brands the minimum wheel width for a 275 or 285 is 8.0 or more. Stresses the sidewalls more with a narrow wheel I assume.

I didn’t personally have it done but it’s worth an ask.

My comment back to them was it was a pretty shitty system if one tire pressure sensor malfunctioning prevented the rest of the system from working.

Basically I took a nail, swapped for the full size spare and tossed the damaged tire in the back of my uncles truck for a repair ( he runs a tire shop ). And the next day my whole TPMS stopped working. Happened to be in the dealer that week while the spare was still removed, reprogramming was the only option they had aside from re fitting the spare ( which magically made it all work again ).

FWIW, I've had the TPMS completely cut out during a drive, and then come back 30 minutes later. Never had this with any other vehicle. Maybe a software issue?

Just fit a 17x8.5 Method wheel (+35 offset) on 285/75/17 Falken AT4. Around a 34.1" tire.
2025 OT+ stock suspension, no rubbing. It gets a little close on full lock to the crash bar fender liner. Don't see a need to remove it as there is still room.

Did you do all five wheels? What's your spare? Thanks

Haven’t done the spare yet but after it was on the lift and inspecting the spare, we saw 2.5-3 total inches to work with on diameter. The stock size being 32.6 inches I can see how a 35 would be a little too tight. But a 34 seemed like it should snugly fit. So I plan on putting the same 285/75/17 there.

First picture is stock spare.
Second picture is a 285/75/17 (Wildpeak AT4) - definitely lost some clearance with such a wider tire, but at least I'm able to fit a 34" (barely).
