Hey guys, so putting on some 35x12.5x17 Toyo with the 17" Method MR703 wheel. I have the westcott designs pre collar lift. The company I ordered the wheels and tires from ships them mounted and balanced and said they are ready to go. The tire shop is saying they need wheel spacers to fit correctly. Has anyone dealt with this before or have any insight on whether or not the spacers are needed? Westcotts website confirms these tires and wheels fit with their lift but make no mention on spacers. Appreciate everyones insight since Im new at this type of vehicle setup.

I only know the hub bore which 106.25mm on the wheel, the vehicle has a hub bore of 106mm. Does that mean these will sit flush with no offset without a spacer but still safe to install and drive? Thank you!

Hard to say without knowing the offest. if you got the wrong offset, all sorts of problems could be the issue. The brake calipers might be hitting the back of the spokes or the tire might be hitting the suspension.

The tire shop obviously sees something that isn't jiving

Thank you for your insight. Im waiting to hear from tire shop on what they think I need to order. They are going to measure everything tomorrow. The company custom offsets that sold them is 100% sure they said nothing else is needed but yea I trust the people in person seeing it. Appreciate your time in responding. 🤙🏽

The 2 choices for offset are +0 and +35. If you got the +35 one, then you will need to remove the bracket in the back of the wheel well and do some trimming on the front of the wheel well. A +0 offset would have a ton of poke and likely rub in the front a lot more, but with either offset, a spacer would be pointless.

I just saw that @Bluegill just posted the video

No spacers needed. I have that same setup.

See this video from Westcott, he explains it starting at 40 seconds:

Thank you sharing this. We initially sent this to tire shop as well and they stated the spacer issue when they went to put them on. Maybe I need to take it to a different tire shop. Appreciate your time!

Good point on the offset. I'm assuming he has the +35 offset on those Method 703s. Zero offset would be the wrong wheel setup!
