I have two 2025 Lexus's, they both do the same so its not my GX I don't think!. When you use hands free with Carplay, whether to message, let it read back a message or make a call, it does not mute the stereo. Example: Stereo is play in all these examples -
1. Press talk on steering wheel, say call XXXX, stereo does not mute and it does not say calling XXXX. It should mute the music and say calling XXXX. But it calls and mutes after the call is in progress.
2. Press talk on steering wheel, say text XXXX, stereo does not mute, and it does not read back the text before sending. But it sends, you don't know if correct or not because it didn't read it back first and give you a chance to redo it.
3. Receive a text, it pops on the screen, I tap it, does nothing because the stereo does not mute. NO hands free, you have to read it on the phone.
I assume all of yours are like this? Software issue? They have got to fix this!
All my other cars, and every car I have rented (many different brands, frequently) mute the stereo as soon as you press the talk button on the steering wheel.
