Black front Emblem (3 Viewers)

So my OT+ has the black badge package which to my surprise is only on the rear deck. Anyone seen a front lexus badge available in black-out?

I added lamin-x tint over it. It gives it a darker/smokey look. I’ve also seen others buy a black emblem cover somewhere on Etsy

What was interesting - I called the parts department at the dealer - they told me there is a sensor behind the emblem and I could not cover - but that did not seem to makes sense.

Yes, the radar is behind there. Probably any film with degrade the performance.

Just an fyi. I have been using adaptive cruise control with the car and no issues at all. I believe many people have tinted the front emblem without any perf issues.

@ilumo, what product did you use to black it out? Was it the same lamin-x tint that @phanmann mentioned? Any details would be much appreciated. Blacked out silver bumper pieces look fantastic too. I just did that front and back and it makes a tremendous improvement in my opinion.

No. It’s basically a wrap/decal that goes over the front emblem. It’s held up good so far but we’ll see over long term. Here’s a post I had about it in the photos thread:

I bought it from an Etsy seller. It was precut, but honestly it was a pain to line up. It took quite a few attempts to line up because the decal didn’t have much extra material and if you did it wrong you would not be able to tuck in the extra lip material for a decent finished look.

I bought it from lamin-x.com. You can find it under emblem covers. I think they make precuts for Lexus but I bought the ‘universal’ emblem cover which is just a rectangle cut. I put it over the emblem and used a razor to cut around it. Very simple.
