CarPlay does not reduce music volume when Siri active (1 Viewer)

Once this case is created, is there any way for me to jump on board with a case number or something to add any fuel to the fire? Driving me insane.

Send a note to andrew_gilleland@toyota.com describing your issue and your request for having it fixed, and they will create a case for you. Andrew is the GVP/GM for Lexus/Toyota in the USA. You may still need to followup with your dealer to have them "confirm" the issue.

I am shocked that there aren't more people talking about this. The implementation seems absolutely horrible.

Had mine at the dealer for "diagnostics" yesterday - they confirmed that it is functioning "as designed" but agreed that it was not how it should function. I already had a case created through the executive office, so they'll be supporting a fix. But still, the more people who report it, the better. The "smoking gun" in terms of expected behavior is the built-in Lexus assistant, which mutes audio volume substantially when active.

I also had them look at the known issue of the Mark Levinson sound system cutting out (loses bass/low midrange under high volume), and the dealer confirmed that this is an issue that Lexus/Toyota is actively working on.

Some progress. But again, please ask your dealer to open a case next time you have it in for an oil change or other service.

I brought this up when I first got the car last July. And yes it still bugs me. I came from a Macan which had the sh17iest infotainment system but atleast the CarPlay integration was not half bad. So yes, this issue is still annoying me.

Give your dealer a call and see if they'll open a case on your behalf

I"m very confused. Found this thread. For the first several weeks I owned the 2025 GX, Siri volume was good and the music volume seemed to drop enough to clearly hear Siri. But now, nothing.

While Siri is speaking, use your volume control on the steering wheel to turn her/him up and down. Should help

Thanks just tried and that definitely helped the Siri volume. Strangely, I was doing something else on CarPlay and the music volume in the background did drop. However, it doesn't drop during Siri. That doesn't bother me, though.

I was on a phone call today, my radio muted (I was listening to a podcast), but not 5 seconds in, the podcast started playing over the call. I don’t know if the person I was talking to heard it because I muted them quickly and went to the podcast app to pause the audio and went back the call to unmute them and continue my conversation. I’m not sure this has ever happened before. I’ve had other strange things happen but everything is infrequent. I never listen to the radio so I can’t say if I have this problem between the radio and CarPlay.
