I don’t think I’ve seen it posted yet- anyone taken their truck to the dealer yet to get any programming changes? I want to disable the Driver Montior alert disabled. Anything else anyone has had the dealer adjust? Someone posted about changes they can make that are “hidden features or settings”- any insight there? I’m heading this week for my 5k service

there are likely some safety features that they won't disable for you for liability reasons. fake engine noise is the only one that I have read about them disabling.

All they said the could do for me was disable the fake engine noise (which they did). They said they couldn't disable front cross traffic alert because it's a safety system and they couldn't adjust the speedometer & odometer for my larger tires. At first the service rep said turning off the front cross traffic alert was no problem and he jumped in the driver's seat and went through the menus on the screen and turned it off. I said don't you think I thought of that? I want it off permanently. He took it up the ladder and the answer was no.

I've heard that you can turn off the front cross traffic alert (and other annoyances) with that little module....forget the name....

Here is another weird one.

Is there any way to change the units of the gauge cluster?

Like KPH to MPH.

I have been through every menu and can’t find it anywhere. This is a must have if you travel cross border, I have a second home in Phoenix lol.

carista?

I don't recall seeing it there but it might be in the beta version

Just went through the current Carista options. The most dangerous thing they allow is turning the seatbelt chime off

Yeah, my guy’s settings expert turned off the driver monitor before I pulled out after the sale. Antoine also set my phone and Lexus network, PIN, and other stuff.

The ‘Driver Attention Alert’ is able to be turned off under Settings. No dealer needed. Unless you’re talking about something else

Mine is off in settings. Still pops up. I drive with my hand on 12 so it’s always on my display as my arm is blocking the sensor.

Yes, Carista is what I was thinking of...

Too bad that Carista can't turn off more of this annoying stuff.

I turned of the sound for the driver attention alert but I still occasionally get the warning on the dash display when I block the camera with my hand or arm.

Update- dealer was not willing to touch any safety features, as expected. But I did get a free valve cap out of my 5k service. Not sure how it fell off as I haven’t touched them.

I ran Carista and it was awesome. So simple and easy to do, I would not bother with my dealer to do this for me as I prefer knowing what was done and being able to try turning things on and off to see what I prefer.

Man if I was a hacker I would really dial this truck in. Carista seems like a good thing to get but it will be annoying to start having to pay for it after the free trial because you know that the minute you end the trial and cancel, then you'll want to use it again.

Did you use the OBD or the EVO adapter? Carista

What things did you toggle? The website only lists functions for the 2nd gen GX/2010+ and the screenshots above don't show much interesting.

It turns back on even if you set it off. I had my wife cut a vinyl sticker with her cricut machine and covered it. Worked perfect.

question wasn't for me, but I can help. I don't think the EVO adapter gets you anything more for the GX. I used a OBDLink MX+ adapter I already had and it worked fine.

The only toggles useful for me were the Engine Sound Enhancement and the seat belt chimes. most all the other toggles were to customize lights/windows but none that I would have changed over stock. I posted a couple screen shots in an earlier post that show some categories

I even searched through the BETA options for our car and there wasn't much else that I found useful. They had a HUD keystone adjustment, parking sensor sensitivity but again, I didn't see anything that you couldn't already change in the main car settings menu.

I'm not going to renew for another month and will be happy with my silenced seatbelts.

I have a family. having to hold my hand on the driver door handle for 3 seconds to unlock ALL the doors was major annoyance to me.

At 5000 mile service they changed to ALL doors unlocking when touching driver door handle without having to hold hand there, but the key fob still requires 2 clicks to unlock all doors
