GX 550 OT+ exhaust buzz low RPM (1 Viewer)

I had the exact same issue. The fix for my OT+ was wrenching down the skid plate, it was vibrating. Really needs a rubber spacing washer or two.

Did you take yours to Bergstrom to fix? I was in there a few weeks ago and even though I told them how to replicate, and they could hear when I drove, they couldn't replicate. I will have to reference you skid plate next time I am in there. My sound seems to be coming from in front of dash so that would make sense more than exhaust referenced by others.

Any updates on this? I have Premium+ and it’s buzzing pretty damn bad between 1.2 and 1.5k RPMs. When people are riding in the rear they complain about it…

I did. Got lucky and whoever looked at it that day found a loose skid plate bolt. Quiet since.

Update! It's been a few weeks since I checked this thread and I never thought to check the skid plates since our buzzy sound seemed to be coming from the rear. My skid plate bolts seem okay, tight, but the front side corners of the skid plate section under front seats do seem to allow enough movement to touch the frame. Its possible under low RPM load they could vibrate and touch the frame.

I cut two rectangular pieces of thick felt we have (1"x2") that are about 1/4" thick and wedged them under the two corners between the frame and the skid plate. Very tight fight. Drove the truck for 30 minutes and couldn't create the buzzy sound. Will report back as we are taking the truck on a short trip 2 hr trip today. As mentioned above additional washers might be a good idea to pull the plate a little further away from the frame, but for now, the felt pieces seem to have fixed it...or its all in my head lol.
