So I removed the glove box to see about gaining access to the sensor and I was able to. I pushed up on the sensor tabs with a long screw driver to pop it out of the dash to unplug. Here's a picture not the greatest but shows the connector looking between the airbag and dash brace above the a/c duct tube. Not gonna be easy if to plug it back in, but I'll worry about that later. So now you can stay in Auto with just DRL on as long as you want, right? No matter how dark

Perfect. How hard was it to remove glove box and get to that sensor 1-10?
Its easy to remove. Here's a picture i numbered on what has to come off. Everything is held on with clips with the exception of the knee airbag which has 3 10mm bolts and 3 tabs on the top edge below the glove box. Glove box has 4 screws. Dont unplug the airbag thought just set it on the carpet once its unbolted.

Oh damn thats way more than I expected. Think there’s a fuse one could pull that only connects to that sensor? I remember pulling a fuse to cut the power to the DRL in my old Civic Si. Could it be that simple?

Hey everyone,

I'm having trouble with the seat memory function. Hit Set and hold 1 till beep, then do the same for 2. Then Press 1 and nothing happens. Held Set and repeated. Whatever I do, it doesn't remember my choice. yes I read the manual and watch YT videos. I know I must be doing something wrong but don't know what.

Ha - Page 1 - my seat beeps. So I need to calibrate it.

Even though I disabled the driver monitoring, I still get this message popping up from time to time when my arm blocks the sensors. Anyone else have this problem?

Yes. To my knowledge, the driver monitor is always enabled. Turning off the feature in the infotainment simply silences the "driver inattention detected" alerts. When it can't see your face, it will still pop that message up.

I think some members simply put electrical tape over the sensor. Be warned, though - I think that disables Traffic Jam Assist.

Here is a small tech idea that I thought I would share. I added a phone mount on the center console in front of the cup holders, and I use a 90 degree usb c adapter with a short cable that has a 90 degree sideways adapter to plug into my phone. That keeps my phone secured and charging without getting in the way.
What brand of mount did you use?

I had this issue. It was very confusing. I found a video on YouTube where a dealer showed you needed to move the seat all the way forward and then all the way back, before trying to set the memory position and that did it for me. Seemed like a calibration step.

Yes - it's a seat calibration step that should have been completed before delivery during PDI. It's a big no-no for a dealer to miss PDI steps, I believe. If you had to calibrate it front-to-back, also make sure you calibrate the seat cushion up-and-down, both for the base and for the front tilt mechanism. I can't remember if the seatback mechanism also needs calibration, but you can check to see if it beeps when adjusting that.

To my understanding, all of those adjustments need to be successfully calibrated before the memory function will work, because the seat memory uses those end stops as reference locations when storing & recalling seat position.

Also, remember this vehicle needs to be in Park to recall seat positions. It will not move the seat while driving, annoying as that is.

When I was with the delivery specialist when I picked up my GX550,he was showing me how to use everything and he couldn't get the vehicle to do something (I can't remember what now) and he said "oops, someone forgot to calibrate the seat.* Then he moved the seat forward and backward and the vehicle beeped and he said " there we go, that should have been done already," and laughed. We moved on with the tutorial and that was about it. Sounds like it gets missed often enough that he didn't think it was a big deal

My Short List so far:
  • Hold Unlock on fob to open windows, programmable at dealer(Page 100 of manual)
  • Remote Start via fob: Lock 3 times holding on the last
  • Fob Sleep: Hold Lock, Press Unlock Twice, Fob Light will blink 4 times
  • Bind Seat Memory to Key. Press Seat preset and unlock on door
  • Enable auto parking break by pulling and holding until beep
Bind seat memory to key; Would you pls elaborate? did not work for me thanks

Anybody know how to disable the security sensor? I hate how it beeps at me constantly when Im washing the car or just walking by it in the garage

To my understanding, this step only works if you aren't signed into the vehicle with any Lexus Profiles.

If you are signed into your Lexus profile:
  1. Link your key via Settings -> Personal Info (make sure you only have one key inside the car before you click the button)
  2. Then, set your driving position while in Park
  3. Drive your vehicle at least 6mph - distance does not seem to matter
  4. Once you put the vehicle back into Park and turn off the engine, that position will be stored for your key and will be recalled when you either unlock your door or turn on the ignition.
Note if you have a Lexus profile, you don't appear to be able to memorize a specific memory seat position. It just memorizes wherever the seat was the last time you drove it. It's kind of a downgrade compared to the standard functionality without a Lexus profile.

It's also frustrating you have to drive the vehicle for the key to be successfully linked to a Lexus profile. I couldn't figure out how to get my partner's account to automatically load, and she kept stealing the Android Auto permissions under my profile. Turns out I had to load her profile, link the key, take a drive in her teeny tiny cramped driving position, put it in park, and then the vehicle would recognize her profile automatically. Very irritating.

Is there a way to make the Outside/recirc air mode switch remember and return to it's last setting (white bar) each time I turn on the engine?

I like using it in 'white bar' mode -- outside air coming into the cabin. Yet each time I turn on the engine it's set to "no bar" (automatic mode).

Reminder, there are three different modes for this switch, no bar, blue bar, white bar, per the Northside Lexus video.

I haven't tried this myself, but if you go into Settings -> (Vehicle Customize maybe? I can't remember) -> Climate, you can disable the "AC with Auto" option, which disables the "Auto" mode for AC and I believe for Recirc. Maybe that would work?

But in the manual, it states the vehicle will automatically default to recirculation mode every time you switch it on as well as when the outside temperature exceeds 75F. Theoretically, it should help improve fuel mileage and cabin temperature in the summer.

I don't mind it so much - it really cuts down on the wind noise - but I understand why you'd want to use the vent mode. I also suspect our cars finally have an automatic "mildew smell reduction" program, which often uses AC + recirc mode to prevent humid air from being trapped in the HVAC system.
