Did a few mods using the KC Cyclone V2 LED 5w lights recently. These are small, flat LED pucks w/ nice lighting output for their size. Worked really well on my LC250 & same can be done on GX550.
- Replaced the OE L/R step rail light & wired in 4 Cyclone V2 w/ diffused lens (2/side). Also mounted (1) on the receiver hitch facing down. KC makes a great specific magnet kit for the Cyclone V2 w/ 24# of force. The lights don’t want to move once installed. This setup isn’t a rock light, but instead works off of the OE step rail light circuit for security lighting, w/ rock light illumination.
- Added (2) Cyclone V2 on the receiver hitch for reverse illumination, especially to help when setting up to tow. You can get a $30 Amazon trailer plug adapter for the Toyota/Lexus OE 7-pin connector that goes between the GX harness and the trailer connector. The new intermediate harness provides a reverse signal with no splicing the OE harness.
