Design wise, it's a His and Hers version......That rear 3/4 shot is great - every time I see a Rivian R1S down the road or highway, I think it is a GX550.

I have both of them, a 2024 GX550OT+ with the 2025 springs installed, and 2025 Rivian R1S Dune Edition (trimotor with off road package and tires). I have a NYTOP hybrid bumper and rock rails on the GX. I had EV Sportline put rock slider running boards on the Rivian. I've driven them both on 4,000 mile trips cross country. More offroad time in the GX, little in the Rivian. They are both great vehicles, and I like them both. For me, however, I prefer the GX. It is more amenable to owner modification and mild working on and fiddling. However, for me a big issue (and it is just me I think), I prefer the seats and way you sit in the GX to the Rivian. My wife and adult kids don't feel this way for what it is worth. As it turns out, we got the Rivian for my wife primarily, and it has turned out to be too big for the in town driving she does a good bit of. So, we are going to give it one of our kids for their use. For reference purposes, I also have a 1996 Land Cruiser I bought new back then, and I've had a series of Tesla EVs, so I have experience with both types of vehicles.View attachment 102
Has anyone been weighing the options between the GX550 and the Rivian R1S? Over the weekend, I had a chat with someone who couldn't stop praising the Rivian R1S for its outstanding capabilities and features.
