I have had a noise issue with a 25’ GX550 for the last couple of months. It sounds like a metal ticking or rattle noise from the rear passenger side around b-pillar area. I also noticed that it becomes louder and more frequent at higher temperature, above 70-80 F. I scheduled a service appointment at one of the local Lexus dealerships and dropped off my GX550 last Thursday. Next day, the service advisor called me and said that the noise comes from the zipper of the first aid kit. But, I asked them to test drive again. I already shared a couple of the video recordings with them. On Monday, they gave me some update that their diagnostic specialist recognized and was able to duplicate the noise. They said it comes from the body frame. Yesterday, I got another update that my GX550 is currently located at their local Lexus certified body shop near the dealership. Today, I've got an update that their technicians proposed to apply a sort of epoxy adhesive (?) to the spot they found. The advisor couldn't explain what exactly it is and how it works when I asked. But, they will need to get an approval from Lexus in TX or further technical information from Lexus to fix it. I was told that Lexus has been involved in this matter. Their technicians have been working with the body shop closely. It’s been a week. I hope they finally address the issue.
