My wife and I are planning a three month trip in our GX next February in the south west.
We are staying in hotels but also have some nights comping in the truck.
I will be making a sleeping platform and will use a Napier suv tent to give some changing space and we can put our yeti boxes in the tent as we sleep.
the question has come up of weather to do a short platform to the folded seats like the bambeds platform. or to make a full platform to the rear of the front seats to make it perfectly flat.
The short platform will be simpler and leave more headroom in the rear area (2'' shorter)
On the negative side this means the front of the platform will have a 2" rise over a length of 24"
The full platform will be well flatter but more bits to build and store plus will feel more cramped.

Anyone with a short platform feel the rise in the front is uncomfortable?
Anyone with a full platform feel cramped and wish they had another 2" of headroom?
there is no free lunch, just trying to get some experienced opinions before building it out.

The slight rise of the folded rear seats is not noticeable with a short platform. Remember that your body weight will compress the cushion material on the folded seats.
