Hey Guys, we just recently put on a Westcott rear spare tire hitch rack and we've tried just about everything turning off all the electronic backup sensors as it just keeps setting the park break on us every few seconds, then let's us move again then does it again.

Has anyone had any luck with menu settings on this to turn it all off and stay off or is this something I may have to go to the dealer to have them re-program to completely shut off?

Silly suggestion, but have you pressed this button to the left of the steering column?

That would be a way to get it to back up without stopping, but my fear is that the Lexus system will detect a system malfunction and you'd get a different alert.

At this point alerts are the least of my worries, haha. I can deal with that but the automatic setting the parking break on and off is just silly.

If you hit that button on the left side of the dash, it should disable the automatic braking. It works on mine. And I think it stays off even after you restart the truck. There is a small orange icon that appears on the right side of the driver dash screen which indicates that it's disabled. But if it is still doing it, makes me wonder if yours is malfunctioning. I also would suggest unplugging the sensors, but that doesn't seem like a proper solution, unless you just don't ever want them again. If you do unplug them, and it throws a dash error, I would assume that would go away after you plug back in. You may also be able to find the fuse that controls it, and then you could more easily diagnose. There is a fuse diagram that somebody posted. My only other thought, and it might be a stretch, is that maybe somehow the kick sensor for the rear lift gate is detecting it? You can turn that off in the vehicle settings. Turned mine off for ever. Hate that thing.
