Steering Wheel leather cracking

I have noticed a section of my leather steering wheel cracking after only ~6k miles...
I get that it is quite slick and soft leather but I've never seen the leather cracking across a section - will upload photos later today.
Initially, I thought that I may have accidentally scratched it but it is on the back side, lower left part of the wheel where I never really hold in that area.

I just wanted to see if anyone else experienced anything similar.

I have an appointment with the dealer this Friday where they will review my complaint - I assume they will push back with everything they have...

I too notice how soft the leather is. I don't think it would be good for some folks that are using it off offroad use.

Update - Apologies as I forgot to upload the photo.
But just came from the dealer and showed them the cracks - they will submit this to Lexus and see where this goes.
There is no reason why this would happen so quickly on an area I never hold the wheel (5 o'clock)...
