Tire Vibration at highway speeds

I have posted on another message board, but wondering if anyone has insights.
I replaced my factory wheels/tires and had. Wescott Levekibg kit installed. I now have 18 inch KMC wheels with Mickey Thompson Baja Legend 275/70/r18 tires. Since the install I have had a vibration at highway speeds. Initially over 60mph. After an alignment at the Lexus dealer and increasing tire inflation from 35psi to 38 psi there is less vibration overall and it show up over 70 mph. I have been instructed to get a true road force balance of the tires, so that will be next. Just wondering if others have had similar issues when switching from a road based factory tire to an E rated larger tire?

Starting questions -
  • is if your KMC rim is hub centric?
  • does kmc offer centering rings?
  • are they kmc lug nuts?
  • are you doing road force balance @ discount tire or tire dealer, or dealership? The Hunter equipment thresholds can be manipulated.
  • Can you switch out to SL tire? Why did you choose e-rated tire? Unless doing serious off roading & needing sidewall protection, generally they’re for 3/4 ton or larger trucks for towing & payload management. They are more difficult to finely balance as they are significantly heavier.

I forget to mention, I did add aftermarket hub centric rings after the alignment. Lessened the vibration slightly, but still very present.
The lugs are KMC.
Plan is for road force balance at Lexus. The Offroad shop that did the install did not seem very competent. Their initial alignment was way off. I trust the dealer for any work they can/will perform.

Sounds like your on top of it. Bet they can balance &/or reclock the tire so it’s hi/low spots alight better w/ rim.
