It wasn’t today (don’t ban me) but I got the Slee Offroad SwitchPros mount put in the other day. Added a ball mount and hung my GMRS radio from it. After that I added the chalk bag water bottle holder mod.
Also in the Ouray/Silverton area. Actually saw @ISU3GX (vehicle) at the rv park we are staying at when we arrived. I recognized it from the forum here. I did reach out to possibly run a trail or two but timing was off and I missed the boat. I ended up following 5 100 series LC’s over engineer pass to lake city then back to Silverton via cinnamon pass. Started hailing on the way back, soft hail I don’t think left any damage but it was pretty crazy dumping.
I have a ‘24 OT+ I bought new and it is at 27k miles. It is bone stock and it still has the original Toyo tires on it. Truck did fantastic, seemed to handle things better than all the built 100 guys I was with.
This is my first post here as well. Greetings to all, I have been lurking since I bought it. I came from 2 470’s, still have one and will take it out tomorrow. That’s one thing about wheeling the new one—-the turbos are LOUD. It’s almost disconcerting. Kind of excited to take the old rig out to compare. The 470 got to participate in the last FJ Summit there was in Ouray I think it was 2019—it was enough time where I have no recollection of the trails so it’s been great so far.
Maybe I should start another thread but my wife and I actually own and operate a cafe (wood fired pizza) in Tecopa, CA. It’s a tiny gateway town to Death Valley national park and there are awesome trails in the park as well as by our cafe. Oh and hot springs! If anyone is planning a trip out that way, we’d be glad to help with planning (we have offroaded almost every trail in the park) and can feed you as well—forum member discount I promise! (Kind of looking at you @Emergencymed, I think you get the idea)

I love that area. I ran those trails a few years back in the tundra. Engineer wasn’t much of a treat in a full sized pickup, but I bet it’s much better in a Gx.

Very cool! Emergencymed and I will be in the area in early September. I have gone past Tecopa a few times and didn't realize you're there. I usually stop in Shoshone before heading straight to Baker so maybe that's why.

I did Imogene last time, I have yet to do black bear and whereas I am firmly confident both vehicles could do it, I’m just not sure I have it in me anymore. I watched a few YouTube’s on it and at least for this trip, I just don’t need that level of excitement. I also can’t convince the wife to follow me in either car so we are out there solo this time around and with the (basically non-existent) fires the news is reporting, it’s quiet out here right now! The parking lot at animas forks was empty everytime we saw it so far.
And yes please stop by and see us in tecopa!

@Lifted , awesome. Yes today we had 3 trucks that we took to Engineer. My son had his Taco, my brother the H3 (he also had a 200, but wanted to try the newly acquired H3 for this trip). He reports high smiles per $$$ for the H3..

I took a bamboo skewer and threaded it through the strap loops and put zip ties real tight on each side of the loops so the skewer doesn’t slide out. Then I popped that trim up, fished the skewer in the there and snapped the trim back down over it.

That's a great idea. Every time I put my insulated metal water bottle on the passenger seat it seems to find a way to leak. I used to tuck it under a corner of a rear floor mat to keep it from rolling around, but then I got the Husky full-length floor liners and there's no more corner of a mat to lift up. I may have to buy a new chalk bag as my last remaining bag is 1990s purple, LOL.
Did my 15k + oil change while admiring this absolute UNIT
